Dear Johann
that sounds like such a good topic for a book -
so many areas there that need clarifying and where the law is inadequite -
I'm thinking especially of
'the copyright ability and patentability of magic acts and devices, '
There's a bit of a conflict between part of a 'new religious movement'
and the 'term of copyright' -
It can mean that the practitioners of a new religion cannot 'publically' use
or develope the religious texts of that new tradition - which IMO represents
a contradition between copyright and human rights legislation.
There's an overlap too with political and academic arena, whereby vested
interest use copyright law to 'deny permission' for reasonably use - some
academics have said that in the interests of intellectual freedom of ideas -
the 'convention on fair dealing' needs to be radically extended - academics
and others should just do it - and force a change in the law??
