Dear Postgraduate Student
My name is Jo Fludder and I am the Division representative for
Neuropsychology in PSYPAG (Psychology Postgraduate Affairs Group). I am
trying to increase awareness of students that I am here as an officer of
PSYPAG to represent the interests of all postgraduate students who
experiment, or who are interested in the neurological aspects of
psychology.
We are under-represented in the BPS, and we are under represented in
PSYPAG. I would like to change this.
If you are interested in finding out more about joining a local
neuropsychology group in your area, or just want to find out more about
this then please read the attached document.
I would also like to publicise this year's 34th annual meeting of the
British Association of Cognitive Neuroscience (formerly the British
Psychophysiology Society) that is being held at Coventry University on 4-6
September 2006. In addition to subject specific symposia ( this year they
include developmental cognitive neuroscience and the neurocognitive effects
of ageing) and keynote speakers (this year they include Dorothy Bishop and
Ian Deary)we also have a number of free platform sessions.
These sessions are designed for any individual to give a short presentation
of their work. It can be on any topic. Over the last 5 years we have
designated at least one of these sessions to be restricted to postgraduate
student presenters. The idea is to encourage postgraduates to be able to
present, in a non-threatening environment, to gain invaluable experience.
If students feel they have insufficient material for a talk, then they are
always encouraged to display a poster.
Attachments with details about this conference are attached. If you would
like more information about the conference then please contact John

thanks
