I like Charles Buckmaster's 1/2 way down:
blackstumps and ferntrees
going
down to the gully
and/or
grey gums with light coming
thru them.
suddenly it seems
as if
an orange filter's
turned on
in the sun.
light on the bracken
under the dogwood.
(that is to say:-
all 1/2 way down & into the forest.)

Hi Tina - welcome to the list.
My favourite tree poem is probably Hopkins' Binsey Poplars - an
environmental poem if ever there was one - such pained lament:
But like this quick and seeing ball
But a prick will make no eye at all
(I may have got it wrong, apologies if so).
And thanks too for that Williams poem, John - great to read it again.
All best
Alison
