Had a strange problem today. I tried to use cupid on a file and got a page
full of
!
!
!
[ad infinitum]. It was stuck in ERR_STOP. Thinking that the alink -static
was the problem I reran and this time got:
$ clumps gplane
!! Error accessing file '/Volumes/Data.sdf' - No such file or directory
! HDS_OPEN: Error opening an HDS container file.
! NDF_ASSOC: Error associating an existing NDF structure with the 'IN'
! parameter.
! CLUMPS: Failed to identify clumps of emission within a 1, 2 or 3-D NDF.
Funnily enough the file in question is in '/Volumes/Data HD/timj/gplane.sdf'
so the spce is causing the problem (stupid Mac user!). Not sure why the
-static caused the error message never to appear.
Interestingly, KAPPA doesn't have a problem:
$ stats gplane
Pixel statistics for the NDF structure /Volumes/Data
HD/timj/scuba/gplane
Title : <undefined>
NDF array analysed : DATA
so it looks like ndf_assoc is the culprit since ndg_assoc (used by kappa)
works fine.
