POST-IT NOTES: A LOVE STORY
I leave messages for you all over the house.
I avoid the refrigerator magnets.
Post-Its on the mattress will do.
Post-Its on the pillow are better than chocolates.
They stick nicely to the cat who appears not to mind.
She is your cat I borrow her as I would bum a cigarette.
One disposable dangerous item is very much like another.
I don't know why I bother with notes for you don't read them.
I can't stay here
I can't live this way
I've met someone I like better
There nothing left
Dead on the inside
Gone perpetually limp
By the time I get to Phoenix
There is a New Egypt in New Jersey but not a New Phoenix.
Make It New said Uncle Ez and we have taken it to heart.
Everything but this torpid place this silent existence.
We make nothing new only the new way to shrug a shoulder.
I wonder if the cat will miss me for 10 minutes when I'm gone.
When her buddy died four years ago she grieved for three days then
tore up a window curtain.
Maybe when I am gone (ha) she will tear up you.
Y'think?
