Rational Rec – the monthly inter-art social occasion – resident at Bethnal
Green Working Men’s Club moves to the Whitechapel Art Gallery for a one-off
special event.
For this special Rational Rec at the Whitechapel Art Gallery on Friday 3rd
March (part of the Whitechapel's Late Night Fridays series), the evening’s
events are spread over four rooms with a mixture of public and private
performances and audience activities including:
- Helmet Lachenmann’s “Salut for Caudwell” for 2 speaking guitarists,
performed by asamisamasa.
- Cult intermedia artist Phil Niblock’s multi-screen audio-visual work “The
Movement of People Working”, performed by +-.
- one-to-one experiences with live artist Laura Malacart.
- a two-minute lecture-performance by composer Alex Hills and guitarist
Anders Førisdal.
- Surrealist-inspired textual, visual and musical hands-on activities.
- Rational Rec's edition of classic game show ‘Just a Minute’, hosted by
Russell Martin.
