Nathan,
We have Proloc for our DVDs. The only issue is that sometimes staff have
difficulty opening the cases using the releaser. There is a knack to it. It's
best to get all your staff trained by Proloc when its installed. The cases
completely enclose the item so it's not possible for students to break into
them very easily unless they are carrying around a hammer to smash them with.
The situation as described to me by Terry Jones in December 2004 is that
Proloc UK Ltd. Company went bust but the product is still available via T.J.
Projects Services Ltd. We have continued to buy Proloc cases from T. J.
Projects Services Ltd. Our last order was in 2005. I recommend that you email
Terry Jones direct on [log in to unmask] or call him on 020 8569 2173.

Subject: DVD Security
Hi everybody,
We're considering putting our DVDs on open access and have been sent some
samples of security cases from a company called Pro.loc. However, looking
back through the JISCMAIL archives I've found postings that state that
Pro.loc has gone into administration.
I therefore have 2 questions:
1) Has anyone else who keeps their DVDs in security cases on open access
any positive/negative feedback about their use?
2) Does anyone know what the current situation is with Pro.loc?
Thanks very much in advance if you can help,
Nathan Scrimshaw
