I was wondering if you guys had any opportunity to do some testing on the
New YAIM release in the next 2-3 days. (Sooner is clearly better)
To quote Oliver Keeble
"Please be warned that we have to get gLite 3.0 out to preprod within a
week, and to be honest the pressure to get a working gLite WMS and CE
means that they will be taking priority over dCache. This means you
should be conservative because our testing capability is extremely thin
at the moment. It also means that any testing you can manage/delegate
would be extremely useful."
Unfortunately I have had little to no external testing, and was
wondering if it would be possible to run my YAIM system for testing
outside RAL, as this raised some important issues when we where first
testing YAIM and I am fearful that site specific bugs may have occurred
due to the scale of rewrite I have completed in this area. I have also
provided the New release of postgre SQL which overcomes the critical
security warning as well as merging in many upgrades to other parts of
the forthcoming YAIM release.
In an ideal world you would be able to upgrade your service just by
adding a line to the apt sources list of
rpm http://storage.esc.rl.ac.uk/ apt/datastore/sl3.0.4 testing
rpm http://storage.esc.rl.ac.uk/ apt/datastore/sl3.0.4 preproduction
The code is in feature freeze at the moment and no further radical
renaming or re factoring is expected within the week, but bug fixes will
be acted upon as my number 1 priority.
Ideally I should like your site to test on a non production box first
identifying what features are missing that your custom box incorporates
and I do not have in the future default D-Cache install. Then test if it
works adequately.
Regards
Owen
PS
Please let me know if you have and resources to test with.
