Anthropologists have been guilty of many sins. What discipline hasn't?
It is still worthwhile to try to do good anthropology--and worth reading
when it is done well. Some of the anthropologists still worth reading
were "colonizers." Keep that in mind and they are still worth reading.
Actually, more worth reading than many contemporary scholar's whose
views are closer to my own.
