I found the below information in my own archive, from previous 'Disability Research' discussions.
According to the Center for Universal Design
(http://www.design.ncsu.edu/cud/univ_design/princ_overview.htm)
"Universal design means simply designing all products, buildings and
exterior spaces to be usable by all people to the greatest extent
possible."
I also recall that Jim Davis (e-mail [log in to unmask]), did some work on Universal Design.
