But also see TRL report 549 "Driver's perceptions of cyclists"
(mentioned in the Warrington study) which suggested (from memory) that
drivers pass closer to cyclists when the cyclist is in a cycle lane. In
my opinion this was an undereported aspect of this study.
Also see Highway Code rule 139 "...give motorcyclists, cyclists and
horse riders at least as much room as you would a car when overtaking".
