I suspect it's because they are *worried* well.
When I had an LP a few years ago (part of the MS diagnosis work-up) I
really didn't need sedation etc. It was no worse than dental treatment
I'd had.
The headache did not start until >48 hours had elapsed and recurred at
2pm daily for a week.
It took me a while to realise why I had this headache, the genius that I am...
