Dearest Qualitative Researchers,
I've just posted release 3.32b4 of TAMS Analyzer, an open source,
qualitative/discourse analysis tool for OSX. This release has minor
improvements to it's key data report, and interface improvements; but
it has major bug fixes including one involving saving analysis
(results) files. Here's a complete change list:
Code level option for data elements of the Data Comparison table
Group but don’t count duplicates for data elements of the Data
Comparison table
Option to fold some results window dialogues (see program preference)
for use on small screens with low resolution
General interface improvements (especially in Data Comparison Table)
Bug fixes for tamsadmin log in for multiple users
Bug fixes for saving the variable space and temporary columns in
results files
Bug fix for setting dirty flag for temporary column operations
As noted with the last release, the new universal binaries have
complicated things. There are now 4 (FOUR) flavors of tams: a single
user version which should run on anything OS X under the sun (jaguar
and later). This doesn't include the code that lets multiple users
synch to a central database. There are separate builds for tiger,
panther, and jaguar of the multiuser code, since these need separate
libraries to connect to MySQL (a database that is used as the hub for
multiple researchers working together). Note that the tiger build
should also work for Panther 10.3.9; I don't think it will work for
earlier versions.
At any rate, you can get what you need from http://tamsys.sf.net/
