Ah, yes, a Cooper's hawk, though it's rather distinctive in Sibley's, esp. if you
look for the feathers, color, tail shape, etc, and not the 'red eyes'

And as for 'good intentions,' since
experentially I have found that the couple of people who had the best of 'good
intentions' (shining examplars of moral/aesthetic morality, depending) were the
very ones who were houses full of secret rooms, full of strange sexual cruelties,
so if I were to pray, I would say,
god, preserve me from those of 'good' intentions, so perhaps you're not
following through on 'good intentions' is just as well,
in poetry, as in anything else.
