Sally,
I think you'd find the Swansea Colloquium where a number of people
presenting in Bournemouth, like Kip, will be offering presentations or
plenaries, most appropriate to give you new ideas and clarify some issues
around overlap between the Arts and research.
Best wishes,
Frances

Dear Sally,
Sounds like your work fits in perfectly well with the rest of us.
What do others think? (Frances???)
I am hoping that, for the performative thread at the Bournemouth
conference, that some might think outside the box of what even a poster
presentation means....t transpose it into more of an opportunity to
display work in new ways. This might fit your work. Or you may want to
morph it into something more performative, like a powerpoint, for
example, if you want to present to an audience. It is really up to you
and how you would like to communicate your work.
I suggest that you submit an abstract and we can go from there.
Thanks,
Kip

Hi Kip
I am a member of the performsocsci list, so got your email about the
Bournemouth and Swansea conferences. I wanted to ask your advice about
the
relevance of my work for these conferences: as mature (old! Or oldish!)
student I am just completing my creative doctorate in the area of
autobiography, memory and identity. I have made an artist's book as the
creative component, using the idea of bricolage (images, text,
image/text as
in a/r/tography, poetry, visual poetry etc). It has been an action
research/
qualitative research approach, and explores the effects on personal
identity
of discovering lost family history through migration.
Some Dorset things I found out in my studies: my homeland is the little
village of Chettle near Blandford, off the A354. My mother's family
farmed
at Hinton St Mary for 500 years. Isaac Gulliver the Dorset smuggler who
operated out of Poole harbour and Wimbourne was an ancestor. Enough!
Regards
Sally
