"MOTHER NATURE X ATOMIC ROSE"
or
"I WANT SOME RED ROSES FOR A BLUE EARTH"
Author: Regina Célia Pinto 2005 /2006

Conceptually, this piece is a poetical "battle" of pixels transformed in
*anime* which asks us to think ecologically: a rose is a rose is a rose?
It is an attempt without words to portray a sense of awe and despair... the
rose has been a gift of beauty into our lives, but when the atomic cloud of
destruction appears to us as an explosive "rose" we need to look further
into our lives and all life. In "Mother Nature" you will find a poem by
David Inkey on a rose background to share some sense of our unity.
Formally the piece has three portions: the "Atomic Rose", The "Battle" (X)
and "Mother Nature". If one reads the piece starting from "Atomic Rose", the
reading will be linear. If the starting point is "Mother Nature" or the "Battle"
(X), the reading will not be linear. The linear reading will allow realize
that the colors lead the narrative as well as the "anime" balloons. The
"Atomic Rose" and "Mother Nature" talk to us through signs.
