Oh heck, Rowdy. No time, and it's not in my job description anyway.
But think Chaigeley School (Howard Jones, "Reluctant Rebels"), or
maybe even Mr. Blunkett's attack on Summerhill a few years ago, and
throw in some of "The Barns Experiment" (and maybe a bit of Peper
Harow under Melvyn Rose. Geez, I wish the Endowment Fund effort had
raised enough funds, and I could be full time, and not having to look
for other jobs. Oh well. Perhaps I can tackle an article sometime.
Maybe for "Therapeutic Communities"? Must dash, have several hundred
oral history recordings and videos to digitise (about to tackle the
video I made of Northfield (Hollymoor) before it was torn down), and
a mountain of archival papers to sort. The climb up inside the
Northfield tower, when it was derelict and missing a lot of rungs and
struts, to get a video elevation of the whole site through pigeon
droppings and torn chicken-wire across glassless windows...I'm just
wondering how it looks in reality, as opposed to memory.
best,
Craig
