The Department of Social and Policy Sciences at the University of Bath is
offering three research studentships leading to the award of PhD.
The Department is one of the leading research centres in social policy in
Britain, and draws together academic staff with backgrounds in Social
Policy, Sociology, Social Work and related disciplines. We have achieved
a prominent international reputation with grade 5 or its equivalent in all
UK Research Assessment Exercises. Our current research strengths and
interests include:
· European and global social policy
· Social division, social exclusion, life course analysis
· Evaluation and innovation in social policy and social care
· The sociology of work, employment and economic organisations
· Death, dying and loss
· Crime and violence
· Welfare and well-being
