Dear Colleagues
I am writing to invite you to take part in an ESRC-funded seminar series:
What counts as valid evidence in evidence-based practice? Combining formal
research, practice wisdom and service user experiences to understand 'what
works' in health and social care.
The series is designed to explore what we mean by evidence-based practice,
what types of knowledge are regarded as valid, and ways in which we can
combine different types of knowledge to produce more effective policy and
practice.
The next event will take place at the University of Manchester on Monday
13th February and we would be delighted if you were able to attend. The
event will commence with lunch at 1.00pm, followed by the seminar at
2.00pm, closing at 5.00pm.
The seminar will focus on synthesising findings from diverse study designs
and speakers will include Jennie Popay, Lancaster University and Ray
Pawson, Leeds University

Best wishes
