sorry, I just mixed up different bits while trying several things. /
dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 both are valid and added to the pool now.

Yeah, I figured that out in the end. sda1 is mounted as /lcg_flatf
and sdb1 as /lcg_flatf_2 and both are added now.
[root@serv02 root]# dpm-qryconf
POOL dpmCam DEFSIZE 200.00M GC_START_THRESH 0 GC_STOP_THRESH 0
DEFPINTIME 0 PUT_RETENP 86400 FSS_POLICY maxfreespace GC_POLICY lru
RS_POLICY fifo GID 0 S_TYPE -
CAPACITY 3.22T FREE 3.06T ( 94.9%)
serv02 /lcg_flatf CAPACITY 1.61T FREE 1.53T ( 94.9%)
serv02 /lcg_flatf_2 CAPACITY 1.61T FREE 1.53T ( 94.9%)
But I wanted to know why dpm gets confused with /dev/sda1 (or sdb1)?
And where that 30.66GB coming from?
Thanks,
Santanu
