I wonder if anyone could help me find out when the phrase "coming to terms
with the past" may have become current.
My guess is that it entered English as a translation of
Vergangenheitsbewältigung, probably in the late 50s or early 60s, but I'd be
very grateful for any concrete tips/examples/literature.
