Terms of Reference
The International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) invites all
interested candidates to apply for an internship in the Inter-Governmental
Dialogue Unit, Policy Development Depatment, ICMPD in Vienna, Austria. The
candidate will more specifically work on issues related to the ICMPD Dialogue
on Mediterranean Transit Migration (MTM). Candidates should be available to
work full time for a minimum period of three months starting as soon as
possible. The arrangement may be further extended by mutual agreement and
depending on operational needs.
Tasks and Duties
- Assist the MTM team in administrative, organisational and substantive matters
- Provide administrative support (e.g. editing, formatting and proofreading…)
- Do research and prepare reports/background papers as necessary
- Prepare and organize workshops
- Draft correspondence, speeches, presentations, etc.
- Attend meetings and take minutes as required
Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in migration, international relations, political science,
journalism, communication or other relevant areas
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic required. French would be a
valuable plus
- Knowledge of inter-governemental dialogues on migration in general and
illegal migration issues issues in particular is strongly desirable
- Previous experience in an international working environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing and able to work in a fast moving environment, under time pressure,
in a dynamic team
