The Computer-Suppported Cooperative Work Group at the Faculty of Media
of the Bauhaus-University Weimar invites applications for a position
opening on 1 March 2006 of a Research Assistant/PhD Position (German
tariff scale IIa BAT-O).
Successful candidates will be expected to work in the areas
Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction
(HCI), and in particular Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing. Assistants
at the Bauhaus-University Weimar are paid employees of the university,
who pursue a Ph.D. and participate in the research, teaching and other
activities of the CSCW Group.
We wish: a master degree in Computer Science or related areas as a
prerequisite; experience in the areas of CSCW, HCI, Mobile and
Ubiquitous Computing as a prerequisite; experience with programming
(esp. Java) as a prerequisite; Mac OS X knowledge is bonus; and good
command of English (and willingness to learn German).
We offer: a salary according to German tariff scale IIa BAT-O,
full-time (i.e. Euro 2000+ p.m.); opportunity for further scientific
qualification / Ph.D.; in an interdisciplinary, dynamic, growing work
environment.
The position is currently guaranteed for two years, but can be further
extended up to a total of six years. Part-time employment is possible.
