Unintended Consequences: Creativity locked in the Arts

Workshop and seminar at Lancaster Literacy Research Centre

Friday 24th February 2006

This workshop is designed to create a space to explore creativity and teaching in adult literacy, numeracy and language. There will be a mixture of inputs, ranging from DVD, photographic images, ceramics, digital storytelling and animation, each showing a variety of ways of working. There will be the space to discuss and share ideas, developing ways of working that are linked to people's lives and their interests. We will think about the place creativity has in adult literacy and how teaching and learning can be freed of some of the constraints that practitioners sometimes feel. Come and share your ideas and be stimulated by the work of others.

The workshop/seminar will take place at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Lancaster University, and is aimed at practitioners, trainers and those working or researching in the area of adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL. The cost will be £50 (covering all costs including refreshments).  Please complete the attached form and return it with payment to the address/ fax below.
