CALIMERA Policy Toolkit for Cross-Domain Working: 'This policy tool-kit has
been compiled by the CALIMERA Co-ordination Action, funded under the
European Commission's Information Society Technologies (IST) Sixth Framework
Programme (FP6). It is intended to support all those developing policies
for partnerships between museums, libraries and archives . . . . The
tool-kit provides brief introductions to key issues. Users who wish a more
in-depth knowledge of the subject can follow the links to important
documents both within the CALIMERA programme and, where relevant, to other
policy guidance and advice. The CALIMERA guidelines on both policy and
management issues are an extremely valuable tool for all policy-makers.
The case studies included in the tool-kit provide policy makers with best
practice examples of developing policy on across the museums, libraries and
archives domains.' (http://www.calimera.org/tool-kit/default.htm)

'SEMLAC, in partnership with the South East England Development Agency
(SEEDA) and Screen South, has published a toolkit to help those with
audiovisual collections in the South East generate income by meeting the
needs of potential commercial partners. The toolkit will enable those who
want to develop the content they hold to find information about specific
management issues of acquisition, deposit, storage, preservation,
digitisation, cataloguing commercial sales and copyright. The toolkit also
contains model agreements that can be downloaded as word documents and
adapted for use by your organisation. These agreements cover receiving
material on deposit, offering a sales service and licensing the commercial
use of footage.'

trace their family histories back to the 19th century and beyond. Now a
fascinating new study allows us all to explore the geography of our family
histories, using a unique website that tracks how many people have our
surnames, their origins and where they live today.'
