Forgot to mail the following on Friday... This implies that I have to
rebuild one by one library or package where the FCFLAGS isn't liked.
Using FCFLAGS and CFLAGS soon stopped make world. Just using CFLAGS
as Norman told me got to EXTRACTOR. It died like this
fitsmisc.c:36:29: merswrap.h: No such file or directory
fitsmisc.c:37:28: sae_par.h: No such file or directory
fitsmisc.c: In function `error':
fitsmisc.c:53: error: `SAI__ERROR' undeclared (first use in this function)
fitsmisc.c:53: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
fitsmisc.c:53: error: for each function it appears in.)

A manual
cd applications/extractor
make; make install
worked. Later GAIA barfed, and the same dodge worked.
