This kid is my hero. He has been for awhile, but never more than now
because he's teaching me how to deal with adversity and what COULD be a
setback. I called him awhile ago. He is becoming an expert on heart
disease by basically devouring everything he can find. I know him well
enough to know he's deeply concerned, but not frozen into a Whatever You
Say Doctor pose. He is, I suppose, a partner in his healing, and is
lucky to have a cardiologist who is willing to work WITH him instead of
dictating.
He ordered himself a new toy on Friday when he got home from the
tests...an Apple iMac. He called it his survival present. It's funny
because I'm heading the same way after I get the damn brakes taken care of.
