The Rational Review curated by Cecilia Wee, presenter/programme maker of
‘New Art on Mondays’, Resonance FM.
The Rational Review live debate will form the centre-piece of an evening
incorporating sound art, installation, discussion, performance and music
from 2005. Come along and be artistically, intellectually and alcoholically
stimulated.
- first public airing of Jonathan Lely’s Launch of the Red Bird -
www.johnlely.dsl.pipex.com
- Rees Archibald sound/film installation -
www.uclan.ac.uk/facs/destech/artfash/muma/ra_cv.htm
- The Rational Review debate, with special contributions from: Michael
Connor (Head of Exhibitions bfi); Sacha Craddock (art writer, curator, judge
of BBC’s Art School); Kenny Schachter (gallerist) and Tom Service (Chief
Classical Music critic for the Guardian, Radio 3)
- music performance from Genital Panic - The unique genre-stabbing sound of
Genital Panic has been likened by critics to "Doing 3 and a bit laps in a
swimming pool full of hot noise" (The Times) "Ready Brek beats gone all
tubby on butter" (Heat) and "Um Bongo Um Bongo, they drink it in the Congo"
(The Wire). Their live shows are an electrifying mix of sound, smells, and a
life size effigy of 1980's athlete Daley Thompson, who sprays the audience
with Lucozade.
- music to dance to from 2005
