This is a quick email to say that the "Institutional Web Management Workshop
2006: Quality Matters" 3 day workshop, to be held at the University of bath
on 14-16 June, is almost full. This may mean that we close bookings in
advance of the closing date. So if you are thinking of attending, we
suggest you submit your booking as soon as possible.
The workshop Web site is available at:
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/workshops/webmaster-2006/
Note that as well as covering many of the topics areas which are often
addressed on these lists, this year we will be addressing issues with
institutional use of various Web 2.0 technologies. This will address Web
2.0 from a strategic and business perspective (with a talk on Developing a
Web 2.0 Strategy and a panel session on Web 2.0: Behind the Hype). These
plenary talks will be complemented by parallel sessions which will address
some of the technical and deployment issues in more depth i.e. Web 2.0:
Addressing Institutional Barriers; Getting your Hands Dirty with Podcasting;
Making RSS work in your Institution; Sharing and Exploring Team Knowledge
with Wikis and Exposing yourself on the Web with Microformats!
Thanks
Brian (on behalf of Marieke Guy, this year's workshop chair)
