Hello and a happy new year to all, and apologies for any across posting.
We would be very interested to hear from anyone who has set up Google Mini
with indexing of content requiring authentication and/or authentication for
serving search results.
A key issue is the indexing pages protected by NT/ Active Directory
authentication - we would be very interested to hear from anyone who has
successfully implemented this.
I'd also be grateful if anyone can answer the following questions:
Can sub collections be particular directories under a domain rather than
separate domains?
Is use of a proxy server to authenticate users and hence control access to
sub collections as suggested by Google a viable solution, and is it likely
to add significantly to the implementation costs?
If anyone has found the full Google Search Appliance a successful solution
in this scenario I'd also be happy to hear about your experience.
If you has answers to any of these questions or tackled similar challenges,
your help would be invaluable.
Many thanks
