Reg,
TfL and DfT spent £1.5m on the Jubilee Line Extension Impact study with Westminster Uni.
I'll ask George Nicholson to send you details.
Of course, a suitable measure of impact is the changes in the value of land.
This reflects in one figure all the different drivers that make land more or less desirable. I.e. the value society puts onto the site.
In the UK we keep no publicly available register of land values
Jones Lang LaSalle measured the increase in land values (due to the JLE) around 2 of the 11 new Jubilee Line Extension stations - Canary Wharf and Southwark.
The result shows that between 1992 and 2002 the land values rose (directly as a result of the JLE only, stripping out other drivers increasing land values) in the immediate vicinity of only these 2 stations by an estimated £2.8bn when the whole line only cost £3.5bn to build.
Best Wishes,
Dave

Dear colleagues,
I wonder if any of you are able to alert Reg to research that has concerned
the links between rail and urban development/regeneration. If so, could you
please direct your response to Reg at [log in to unmask]
Thanks,
Glenn
