CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Innovations in Transport Policy & Practice (Track G6)
11th World Conference on Transportation Research, Berkeley, CA June 24-29,
2007
Abstracts are invited for the track on Innovations in Transport Policy and
Practice for the 2007 World Conference in Transportation Research, being
held in Berkeley, California, June 24-29, 2007. This track especially
emphasizes innovative policies and practices that have been implemented or
considered for implementation, with less emphasis on theory development.
Abstracts on the range of innovations are encouraged, including:
- Case studies of innovative projects or initiatives, in areas such
as
o pricing
o land use
o coordinated land use-transportation planning and implementation
o impact mitigation
o parking
o transit-oriented development
o value capture
- Zoning and the costs and benefits thereof. Does zoning reduce
conflicts in the long term?
- Lessons learned from successful, stalled or failed initiatives
- Barriers to implementation and strategies to overcome such
barriers
