Environmen Protection Agency:
The EPA are funding a large-scale project in the Urban Institute in
University College Dublin that will look at various aspects of the
urban environment and the interactions that occur in the urban
environment.
A PhD student is sought to work on the transport element of this
project. The student will be working with SATURN and Moland to examine
the interaction between transport policy and the urban environment.
Research will include examining how transport and land use models can
potentially be integrated. Funding (including fees) stands at
approximately €25,000 per annum for 3 years.
Applicants should have at least a 2.1 degree in civil engineering,
mathematics,
geography, transport studies or a related discipline.
Competency in mathematics and modelling are required. The student must
also be able to demonstrate an interest in transport policy and an
understanding of different transport scenarios. Any experience of
using transport or land use models is desirable.
