Reducing Transport’s Energy Use; Taking Real Action
21st November 2006, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Islington, London
Climate change has hit the headlines this week with plans for the
Government’s forthcoming Climate Change Bill and news of Richmond Council’s
proposals to charge the owners of high-polluting cars a premium rate for
parking permits.
The need to protect the environment through reducing transport’s energy use
and carbon emissions is now near the top of the political agenda and if the
industry fails to take action of its own accord it will suffer through
increasing Government regulation being imposed.
