PhD studentship in the impact of transport infrastructure on land use.
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship working in the area of the impacts of transport infrastructure on land use. This will examine in particular the longer-run impacts of the Jubilee Line Extension (JLE) in east and south-east London, and the choices made by developers in this process.
This studentship forms part of a co-ordinated PhD research programme being supported by Transport for London at Imperial College London, University College London and the University of Westminster. It comprises a bursary for three years, initially at the rate of £15,000 per year, together with University fees at the home/EU rate. In the case of exceptionally well-qualified and motivated candidates from outside the EU, consideration may be given to covering all or part of the overseas University fee.
Applicants should have an Upper Second Class honours degree in a relevant subject, and preferably a Masters degree, or relevant professional experience.
The Transport Studies Department at Westminster has a wide range of experience in the field of transport research and postgraduate teaching, and co-ordinated the JLE Impact Study on behalf of Transport for London.
