RESEARCH FELLOW - FLOOD SYSTEMS
Serious flooding of cities over recent years and the concerns regarding
the implications of increased flooding due to climate change has
heightened the focus on flooding and the costs associated with it.
Increasingly it is recognised that to manage flood risk effectively
management approaches must be integrated across the traditionally separate
disciplines of urban drainage and river and coastal management.
HR Wallingford has recently won a major project to develop the next
generation of integrated urban flood models that will support this new
approach. The work builds upon a number of leading research and
development projects on-going at HR Wallingford.
An exceptional graduate with skills in computation methods and flood risk
modelling (ideally both urban drainage and river modelling) is required to
support this innovative project.
The successful applicant will be appointed on a permanent contract and
will be based at HR Wallingford’s Headquarters near Oxford in the UK.
There is an opportunity associated with this post for a Doctoral degree.

following skills:
• Flood and catchment management.
