Hi Christina,
What a great slant-ways look at what matters!
I must admit I often look up at all those CCTV camera's and think of the
people who are sitting looking at the screens at me - and for what reason?
We all think, I assume, that they're there to look at someone else, and that
someone else doing something wrong! I just think of them watching me ambling
past with my carrier bag containing a loaf of bread and getting paid for
doing it.
Somehow we've got into a culture where we're all being told that others know
more about us than we know they know. So it's good to be presented, in the
poem, with an utterly unselfconscious cat who, when he's is watched over, is
looked after and then fed.
I also like the way it works with the past, and the present, but from a
possible future.
It's a delightful piece.
