Hi Bob,
No real nits to pick here except that having uphill and downhill in quick
succession jarred a bit. Not sure that it needs both.
But it made me smile - really nice poem.
Regards,
Matt

>As we grin at the straight face of the dark statue
>with a fruit juice carton wedged under his arm
>there’s a strong scent of flowers, new mown grass,
>and while a dog lopes downhill after a Frisbee
>we stroll uphill, drink water we’ve carried all day
>then sit on a bench near those who sip glasses of beer.
>What we all know while we gaze through the gap in the trees
>at the cathedral’s floodlit glow beneath a violet sky
>is the dry warmth of the breeze, is slowness
>and what touches everything, and all of us, is light.
