Dear Bob, thank you very much for your nice message. I was very struck by
your comments on the feel of books; i hate rotten paper that scratches your
skin, and Happenstance pamphlets are beautifully produced and do nothing of
that sort! I'm something of a "paper junkie", can be found in stationers'
feeling up paper for the right silkiness, ease of pen slipping across the
surface etc. The worst book I own is a copy of de la Mare's "Peacock Pie" on
the roughest, thickest, coarsest paper imaginable. It's painful to open it!
So it's lovely to hear from someone who has similar awareness of touch.
My Book "Uncertain days" will be published on July 1st,
and will be available from www.happenstancepress.com, price £3 - That'll
break the bank!!
very best wishes,
Gill
