if I think I can use it, Gill - it will depend on the poem, the extent of
the politics, whether I think it can fit into the 'cultural window" I want
to make, etc.
Dante? - he would say that, he was flattering Beatrice.
I agree about wit, but wit can be quite sardonic, I dont think wit is the
same as appreciation, celebration. Wit is a streak of being one step ahead
and enjoying that...I think rhyme is a kind of wit.
