SDG 2006: A conference of the Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group of the RSC.
University of Oxford, December 18-20, 2006
The conference will begin on the evening of *Monday* 18th December
with two tutorial lectures aimed particularly, but by no means
exclusively, at graduate students. This year our guest speakers and
their talk titles are:
Peter Bernath (University of York) "Molecular Astronomy"
Katharine Reid (University of Nottingham) "Insight into excited state
intramolecular dynamics using laser-based photoelectron techniques"
Jan Verlet (Durham University) "Dynamics of the excess electron in water
and methanol cluster anions"
Steen Nielsen (Aarhus Universitet) "Photoexcitation of nucleotides in a
storage ring: statistical vs. nonstatistical dissociation"
Pat Vaccaro (Yale University) "Lifting the Veil of Solvation: The
Optical Activity of Isolated Organic Molecules"
On Tuesday and Wednesday the meeting will involve the traditional mix of
invited lectures together with both oral and poster contributions. We
will do our best to accommodate as many contributions in the conference
programme as possible. We would like to encourage all delegates -
especially graduate students and postdocs - to submit titles for
presentations (particularly the 20 minute oral contributions).
The meeting will close at approximately 16:00 on Wednesday. Please note
that the last session will be part of the Legon Symposium. More details
can be found at <http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/pt/sdg/sdg2006/index.php>
If you plan to attend the meeting please complete a registration form
and return it to the address given below. An both electronic version
and pdf versions of the application form may be found on the internet
