Thanks, Mike. Jiscmail helpdesk have also got back to me and suggest
the same thing (and indeed have changed David Newman's settings to
NOHTML MIME DIGEST). This delivers the messages as attachments within
a single digest posting, and prevents his mail client scrambling the
text.

As a short cut to Mike's instructions, you can enter psci-com
subscriber's corner at http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/psci-com.html,
confirm your email address and then change your settings from this page.

Please let me know off the list if you need further help.

Thanks
Louise (psci-com list manager)

It is probably down to how the list is set up for you.

If you go to JISCMail:

http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/

Log in. (If you don't have a password, then you may have to get one.)

Then you can navigate to the "Subscriber's Corner" from where you can
control lots of strange things.

One of these is:

Digest (MIME format)	[NOHTML MIME DIGEST]

The second bit is also a command that you can send to the server.

It probably goes something like this:

Set psci-com NOHTML MIME DIGEST

If you go down that road, do send the instruction to the server, not the
list.

You may also be able to get to the web control panel from the link that
appears beneath each message:

http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/psci-com.html

Then:

"Join or leave the list (or change settings)"

Or try this:

http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=psci-com&A=1

PS Apologies for the descent into nerdspeak. But there may be more than
one person who is wondering how to control their subscription. This is
the best way.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] What HTML e-mails look like in PSI-COMM digests

I get the daily digest of the PSI-COMM mailing list. When people send
e-mails to the list that are not in plain text, they become unreadable
in the digest form. You might not have noticed, because if you receive
each individual e-mail the e-mails get decoded. But this is what one
such posting looked like in "PSCI-COM Digest - 27 Nov 2006 to 28 Nov
2006 (#2006-230)":
