Grants Manager Public Engagement
The Wellcome Trust is one of the world's largest biomedical research-funding charities and its mission is to foster and promote research with the aim of improving human and animal health.
Our Public Engagement Development Group (PEDG) supports the Trust's objective of engaging the public with biomedical science and the issues it raises. Reporting to the Head of PEDG we now have an exciting opportunity to join its management team.
As Grants Manager you will be responsible for managing the funding portfolio associated with the public engagement grant schemes and associated Capital Awards. In addition you will lead and develop the Grants team and play a key role in the development and implementation of Trust policy and strategy in these areas. You will need to demonstrate:
* A bioscience degree and a relevant post graduate qualification.
* Significant experience of managing and delivering public engagement with science initiatives.
* Experience of strategy development and implementation.
* Proven staff, project and budget management experience.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.
* First-class organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
In addition some experience of grants funding processes or similar would be advantageous.
Salary c. £37,000 - £45,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits
