Hi Jenny,
As a scientist I stopped reading New Scientist as I found articles on
subjects I knew about to be (a) often full of errors of fact and/or
understanding, and (b) often about work that people in the field know to
be on the fringes and/or very probably wrong (and often about pre-prints
that never get through the refereeing process). Therefore I had to assume
that articles about subjects I didn't know about were also the same. I
reasoned its better to know nothing than wrong things.
