I agree that that is indeed worrying and yes, is a
cause for concern. But I also remember when the poll
was conducted. The options were either creationism, ID
or natural selection. There was no option except these
three very contrasting viewpoints.
As a Christian I would side with the creationism
option (small c though!! :-) ) which in terms of the
poll in question would have lumped me in with the
Young Earth Creationists as well. Certainly not a
choice I would willingly make!
The poll was unfortunately by its nature going to
generate some very 'interesting' statistics and I
would even dare to say got the results it was looking
for.
