Fellowship in the area of Computing Grid Policy and International
Cooperation at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland
The EGEE-II project (Enabling Grids for E-SciencE, http://www.eu-egee.org/)
is a very large international Grid computing project co-funded by the
European Union.
CERN is the coordinator of this project, which involves more than 90
institutes in 32 countries around the globe. CERN also supports the Policy
and International Cooperation activity (NA5), which is led by partner GRNET
in Greece.
To support this activity, CERN is looking for a fellow, who will
· Provide support to the leader of the NA5 activity, "International policy
and
cooperation"
· Liaise with partners involved in this activity in the preparation of
deliverables, reports, standardisation, and dissemination material
· Coordinate "concertation" activities with the European Commission
· Provide support to related European Grid projects
· Represent CERN at events and meetings, taking minutes and following up on
actions
· Provide support to the EGEE Project Office at CERN in the development of
the
European Grid Initiative
This position would be for a duration of 18 months, starting in February
2007.
Qualification Requirements
Education: University degree or equivalent in science or other disciplines
relevant to the position.
Experience and Knowledge:
· up to three years relevant professional communication experience in a
scientific area;
· excellent written and presentations skills;
· very good knowledge in English; basic knowledge of French of an
undertaking to
acquire it rapidly
