The vision of Cancer Research UK is to conquer cancer through world-class
research. We are the largest volunteer-supported cancer research
organisation in the world, with a dedicated team of 3,000 staff and an
expected annual turnover of around £340 million.
We currently have an opportunity for a science graduate or post-graduate
with outstanding communication skills to make a key contribution to the
effectiveness of our Cancer Information Department.
Your role will be to explain Cancer Research UK's science to lay audiences
within and outside the organisation. This will involve delivering scientific
information in accurate, motivating and innovative ways, in particular
through written materials. This often means working under pressure to meet
deadlines.
In addition to a good understanding of molecular biology, you will have
experience of working in biomedical research, preferably cancer research.
Your proven writing skills and talent for communicating complex ideas to
non-scientific audiences will be supported by excellent interpersonal
skills.
