Here be dragons: The Natural History of Monsters
‘Here be dragons’ was the legend often put on maps to signify the myths
and monsters in unknown parts. But mermaids, Cyclops and kraken are no
longer shrouded in mystery, for they have all been explained by science.
So are there any mysteries out there yet to solve? What about bigfoot,
Nessie and the beast of Bodmin Moor? Is there any evidence for these
modern ‘monsters’, and why do we need to believe there are things science
can’t explain? Join us as we debate these and other questions. Do you
believe in monsters?
This event is free, but booking is required; please call 020 7942 5555.
The event takes place in the Darwin Centre (entrance via Queensgate). This
event is free of charge, and refreshments will be provided.
