Sorry to hear that you have problems sifting job applications for the
BBC without some kind of visual aide memoire. I hear lots of other
companies manage it. Somehow they are able to juggle names and judge
quality without a mugshot.
Thanks for passing on the web address though - it made us laugh out
loud in the lab! Why not be honest and admit you're interested in the
way a person looks, rather than the way they handle a screwdriver?
It's quite all right to say so. Decorative, grinning presenters are
perfectly fine and watchable. It's just that in sending out your
advert, you might be missing a trick. There might be someone who
doesn't shine in a passport photo who might be more entertaining than
the usual fare that clogs up our screens these days. They might even
have something original to say.
