List members may be interested to know that the Defence Research Information
Centre (DRIC) held an enormous collection of classified reports which were
written during the war years. The majority of these should be declassified
by this time.
Some ten years back there was a scientist from the RSRE (as was) at Malvern
(electronics specialist) who spent a few days browsing many of these
documents and found them exceedingly useful. He said they contained many
ideas and proposals which the technology at that time was not capabale of
supporting. With the advances in science over the years many of these can
now be implemented.
Anyone looking for research ideas may find this source of some value - if
they can get access to it. I believe it has now relocated from Glasgow to
Porton Down and is under the control of DSTL.

Sandy Smith
